The major credit grantors share information with the credit reference agencies regarding their customers credit agreements. Some lenders may share credit information with one credit reference agency, some may use two credit reference agencies, and a handful of credit grantors will use all three credit reference agencies. If you are searching for further credit facilities, you may find that your credit score is higher with one credit reference agency compared to another. For example, if you've had bad credit with a lender who uses experian (but doesn't use the other credit reference agencies), you may find your credit score is higher with Callcredit and Equifax. As a result of this, you may be able to get more favourable credit terms by using a lender that uses that particular credit reference agency.
